This 2,400 sq. ft. two story contemporary was designed by Dale Shostrom, whose unrelentless pursuit of design perfection made every aspect of this home so special.

It features a commercial pan metal roof with concealed gutters. The exterior relates to the colors of the madrone trees that surround it. Green stucco with horizontal channels meld with the railing system and terra cotta colored decks match the bark of the madrone, while the steel supports of the deck mimic the tree trunks. Very contemporary yet respectful of the natural setting.

The interior has very clean, crisp lines that are reinforced by the polished colored concrete floors that hold the radiant floor heating system. The heating and cooling system is powered by a ground loop heat pump that is incredibly efficient.

Light plays a large role in the feel of this home. Natural light through the clerestory reflects into every room of the main floor. Doors and windows are located to maximize light and frame the picturesque views. At night, the lighting is even more dramatic, highlighting the angles of the home. Lighting specialist Julia Rezek deserves much of the credit for her wonderful design.

The stair treads are solid cherry that cantilever out from the wall below and support the glass and steel rail system, creating a very refined detail that is subtle yet dramatic.

Cabinetry reflects the lines of the house in a simple European style, made of rift cut cherry to add just the right amount of flair.

Doors windows and trim are all vertical grain fir.
