Victorian

"Dear Matt -
It has been a long project, both because of its size and complexity, but also because of the complexity for you having a client so far away...(client lived in India during the project)...We appreciate your patience and professionalism... a great comfort knowing you were always on top of things."

This historic 1920 Victorian was completely renovated from a bed and breakfast back to a private home. Architect Rob Saladoff worked closely with the owners to restore the original authenticity of the style, while adding amenities in a tasteful manner.

The house had been added on to and remodeled many times and was replaced from the ground up through to the corrected roof lines to create a seamless transition from original to additional space.

A new studio-library and garage done in a cottage style to respect the architecture of that era were also added.

A new pool, patio areas, garden walls, arbors, fencing and gates create a wonderfully private yard. Landscape architect Kerry KenCarin's careful attention to detail ensured the new amenities blend with the style of the original home.

The home was recognized by the City of Ashland's Historic Commission for historically compatible new accessory structures.

The interior was stripped back to bare studs, floors leveled, framing reinforces, all new plumbing and electrical. Finishes include period correct cabinetry, soapstone counters, subway tile and cherry floors.
